Melissa Sprouse, with her heart full of creativity and a mind sharp as a tack, has been at the helm of HOTplate Pottery & Clayworks since 2018. An NMU alum with a Master's in Public Administration, Melissa’s journey is rooted in a deep respect for the community she serves. Her experience spans retail expertise, sales management, and a passion for ceramics that’s palpable to everyone she meets. 

Under her guidance, HOTplate has become a welcoming hub where all ages can explore their artistic side. Melissa not only empowers her team to succeed but also consistently seeks ways to give back, hosting charity events and workshops that enrich Marquette's vibrant art scene. This deep community involvement highlights her as not just a business owner, but a dedicated cultural contributor, fostering a sense of belonging and creativity in everyone who walks through the studio doors.
